Soviet cameras.

My father and I have decided to sell the Petri. It’s in very good condition, however I really don’t like the leaf shutter. I would much rather have a rangefinder with a shutter curtain, that way the shutter is at a closer distance to the negative.
We’ve decided to purchase another Fed-3 for myself, to replace the Petri. My father has his own Fed-3 and I’ve already tried it for a few times. It’s pretty good. You just gotta love those Soviet cameras.
I’m currently working on a side project which I will talk about perhaps in the next entry. It depends entirely on whether I shall be able to set it up fully within the week. I still have a lot of ground to cover. I have no idea whether it will interest you guys or not. But whatever.
I hate deliveries. It’s when you’re looking forward to them that they take so long to arrive. My dad dropped off some film at the lab to be processed three days ago. He opted to have them delivered straight to our house. They still haven’t arrived. I’m really looking forward to seeing the results, because I used the 50mm prime lens and I may have gotten some really good bokeh there.
As you may have noticed, a new layout has been put up. I easily get tired of my layouts, I know, but I think I’ll leave this up for a long time (whatever). It’s a little web 2.0 and all. But I like the white.
I am going to call the lab if my photos don’t arrive within the next thirty minutes. They always promise to deliver within two days and it’s strange that they haven’t arrived yet.

A Petri. Wow.

My dad has entrusted this in my possession. The precious Leica IIIF is finally back in his hands (after US$40 worth of repairs) and he hasn’t used this in a long time.
Anyway, I’ve been having a lot of trouble using this, since I’m much more used to my Canon rangefinder. Has anyone had any experience with this specific camera? Or any Petri rangefinder? I know how to operate it and everything, however, I’m having a lot of trouble with focusing. Help?
It’s time to get back behind that viewfinder and start pressing that shutter button. I haven’t touched a camera since the photography workshop.
